At a recent meeting with BWF officials earlier this month, he noted the positive impact of having badminton’s world-governing organisation in Malaysia, particularly given the sport’s prominence in the country and region.
BWF Deputy President Paisan Rangsikitpho said the meeting – to which he was accompanied by BWF Council Member and Chair of the Finance Committee Dato' Lim Teong Kiat and BWF Secretary General Thomas Lund – was “constructive”.
He also noted the Prime Minister is a big badminton fan and is keen to ensure BWF has the appropriate environment in which to further its global mandate from its Kuala Lumpur office.
