The BWF’s Disciplinary Committee has today written to Bodin Issara and Maneepong Jongjit – via the Badminton Association of Thailand – outlining a number of alleged breaches against them, under the BWF Players’ Code of Conduct.
Issara is charged under Sections 4.1 (Inappropriate Conduct); 4.14 (Oral Abuse); 4.15 (Physical Abuse); 4.16 (Unsportsmanlike Conduct) and 5.1 (Conduct contrary to the integrity of the game).
Jongjit is charged under Sections 4.1 (Inappropriate Conduct); 4.14 (Oral Abuse) and 4.16 (Unsportsmanlike Conduct).
Both players have been advised that “the investigation and hearing (into this matter) will be undertaken using written reports, submissions and evidence”.
Along with the letters, reports from tournament officials as well as video footage of the incident were forwarded by BWF to the Badminton Association of Thailand. Both players have been asked to provide written statements on this matter to BWF by next Tuesday evening.
Thereafter, the Disciplinary Committee will review all evidence and make a decision as soon as possible.
