Channel FAQ
1. What are the factors which will affect the quality of live streaming? What is the ideal internet broadband bandwidth required in viewing live streaming on YouTube?
We recommend a minimum broadband connection speed of 1.5 Mb in order to view a Live Streaming in best quality. If HD transmission is available (may not be available always) you would need a connection in excess of 2mbps. Youtube player will determine available bandwidth at your end and choose applicable resolution automatically. If you feel that selected quality is not good and your connection can support a higher resolution, you can manually switch to a higher quality stream (subjected to availability) by selecting a small drop-down at bottom of Youtube Player which says (240p or 360p etc).
2. I see a lot of buffering i.e. live streaming will stop intermittently for 1-3 sec and then resume. This happens quite often. How do I fix this problem?
The most probably issue is with your internet connection. If this problem persists with the lowest available resolution - which in most cases would be 240p, this means your connection speed is below 512kbps. Your only option would be to switch to a higher bitrate connection – do contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for advice. If you face problem with higher bitrate connection, check with your ISP on connection quality and switch to a lower quality stream i.e. 480p -> 240p for smoother viewing.
3. When I attempt to watch Live Streaming it says “This video is not available” or “Uploader has not made this video available in your country”. Why?
This usually happens for main two reasons:
Reason 1: If you are in France, Sweden and Germany we are unable to provide live streaming through Youtube, as prevailing internet laws and regulations in these countries restricts us from doing so. We are still working to resolve it and hope live streaming will be available soon.
Reason 2: The other reason would be that you are trying to watch it from the host nation of current event or in countries where geo-blocking has been applied for the particular event. Host country is automatically excluded from availability of live streaming, as well as in countries with TV broadcast.
If none of above reasons apply and you are still unable to see the live match, do send us a message using option on the channel page.
4. Why can’t I view the live streaming happening on the other courts of the tournament?
This channel currently provides live streaming from the Worldfeed i.e. footage which appears on Television globally and follow the same schedule of live as-seen-on-tv broadcast. In future however we will work towards availability of feeds from multiple courts and provide user with a choice to select game/court it wants to see.
5. Where can I find out about upcoming events?
The events will appear in the upcoming events section on the "Live" tab prior to the broadcast. Do subscribe to the channel by clicking “Subscribe” button on the top so that you get regular updates about upcoming events.
