2013 BWF World Senior Championships

 

 

 

 

 

 

Overview

The BWF World Senior Championships are held every two years. This is an individual championships with men’s and women’s singles and doubles, and mixed doubles events. The age categories are divided as follows: +35, +40, +45, +50, +55, +60 +65 and +70

The World Senior Championships is a prestigious  individual event for players . The winners of each category is awarded a gold medal and to become  crowned with the title of World Senior Champion in various age categories.  The runner-up gets a silver medal while the third place winner gets a bronze medal. Member Association is invited to enter up to four players/pairs in each of the five events in each age category.

 The 2013 World Senior Championships edition will be at  Ankara , Turkey from  Monday 9 - Saturday 14 september  2013(Revised Dates)

Opening ceremony  

  • The organisers have planned  for a opening ceremony on 9 September 2013 at 1430hours at the main stadium. All  participating  players and team members are invited for the opening ceremony.

A Farewell Party

  • A farewell party will be held on Saturday  14 September at 20.00 hours(updated 9 Septand the  venue to be notified later.

Team Managers Meeting

  • To be held on 8 September 2013. Time : 1800hours , Venue : Anggora Hotel,  Website: http://www.angoraotel.com.tr/ (official transport will be provided teams staying in the official hotel).For those who  are not staying at the official hotel please ensure to arrive at Angora Hotel before 1800 hours.
  • Team managers form. (please submit by Friday 30 Aug 2013 to v.mahalingam@bwfbadminton.org)
  • Member Association who had failed to submit the team manager's list  before the deadline are advised to submit the list by Monday 2 September 2013.

Redraw

The referee has advise a redraw is necessary for the above mentioned categories as their players national separation was not done correctly. The redraw will be done on Monday 2 September 2013 and was approved by the Referee

  • Players requesting for new BWF ID numbers must submit the player profile forms before 31 July 2013. We will not  promise any late  request after this date
  • All entries must be sent on the attached entry form to  Andy  a.hines-randle@bwfbadminton.org   or Shan s.ramachandran@bwfbadminton.org  and copy v.mahalingam@bwfbadminton.org

    Note: Entries will not be accepted without a player’s date of birth and copy of passports must be attached together with the entry forms   Passports will be checked against dates of birth in BWF headquarters and also by the referees in  Ankara, Turkey
