Badminton Oceania is looking to appoint a Chief Operating Officer. The COO is responsible for providing leadership and managing the day to day operations of the Confederation. Currently the position in based in Auckland, New Zealand and while this is the preferred location this can be discussed with the successful applicant.  Remuneration for the position will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Call for Expression of Interest - Writers

The Badminton World Federation is seeking proposals from experienced technical official educators and material developers to write the following educational materials, following the outline developed by BWF:

  • Level 1 Referee Education Resource and guidelines for tutors
  • Level 1 Umpire Education Resource and guidelines for tutors
  • Line Judge Education Resource and guidelines for tutors

These courses will be initially available in English, however, it is planned to translate these into Spanish, French, and Arabic.

These resources will be available in print and electronic formats, and the base resource material will supplemented by video and a manual for tutors.

The successful candidates will write the modules of these resources from mid-January 2016 to the end of May 2016.


Main Responsibilities

The writers may work alone or with others to:

  • review existing relevant material as required;
  • draft / write the technical content for each of the modules;
  • provide draft notes / instructions for the delivery of the exercises in each module;
  • provide “rough video clips” or text which illustrates the key exercises in each module so these can be used as a guideline for the video production by a video production team;
  • attend ‘meetings’ – either on Skype / or in person at mutually agreeable times / days - to assist with the reporting and feedback processes with the BWF on the draft content submitted; and
  • contribute to the plan for implementation.
